The Ohio Wheelman Series stopped at Lorain Raceway Park to celebrate Fast Cars and Freedom on Independence Day Weekend. A full field of Ohio Wheelman Street Stocks took to the track for the main event, the Left Turn Photo Works Fast 40.
Dominic Cicconetti and Jason Drummond led the field to the green flag for the 40 lap feature event. Josh Way had made his way to the front of the pack from the 19th starting position and led Josh Poore, who battled from 11th to get to the front of the pack when disaster struck. Earl Goldy made a 3 wide pass on Way and Poore on a restart, Way battled back to the inside of Goldy and Poore off turn 2 when the “big one” occurred collecting half of the field. Poore escaped with no damage and took the lead, hanging on to win the Left Turn Photo Works Fast 40. Joe Coursen would battle back from minor damage to finish second but failed post race tech inspection and was disqualified. That moved Joshua Way to second, Shaun Winters (3rd), Jeff Kuykendall (4th) and Tristan Crago (5th) completed the top five finishers. Kuykendall won the Fast Dash while Joshua Way and Randy Hedrick won the Heat Races.
Trent Aslaksen scored his first Perfection Fabricators Grand National Feature win of the season by holding off Chase Wiggins (2nd), Brenton Beall (3rd), Doug Beall (4th) and Aaron White (5th) completed the top five. Brenton Beall won the Heat Race.
Roy Lowe took the Factory Stock Feature victory over Jimmy Phillips. Phillips scored the Heat win.
Aaron Vitolo scored the Clean Sweep in Warrior action, winning the feature over Jon Jon Yeckley and winning the heat race.
