The kickoff to any new season brings new drivers, new cars and new looks to the track for the first time as the weather turns warmer and the roar of Lorain Raceway Park returns. The 2025 season will kick off on Saturday, April 26th with the Ohio Wheelman Series joining the Modifieds, Grand Nationals, Factory Stocks and Ohio Pro Compacts.
The 2024 Autism Awareness Opening Night saw five divisions competing on a crisp April evening. The Modifieds, Street Stocks, Grand Nationals, Chargers and Factory Stocks took to the ⅜ mile to open the 75th Anniversary Season at “The County”.
Spencer Stineman kicked off the 2024 Lorain Modified division by winning the 35-lap feature event after a side by side battle with Brandon Lemmerman. Stineman would ride the momentum all season and take the Modified Championship along with a big victory in the inaugural Jackpot Nationals at The County. Kurt Hennings and Parker Ennes picked up Heat Race wins.
Jeremie Wiggins took the King of Ohio Street Stock victory over eventual Champion Eddy Poderzay. AJ McCall and Poderzay won the heat races.
Jacob Bray won the 20-lap Grand National opening feature over Dan Smith. Smith won the heat race.
Melvin Martin took top honors in the Charger division, winning the 15 lap feature event.Coty Phillips taking the heat race victory.
The Factory Stocks saw Jesse Houghton take the 20-lap feature win, Houghton also won the heat race earlier in the program.
